What is OpenConstruction Initiative?

OpenConstruction is a curated catalog of open datasets, AI models, OERs, and use cases for the AEC domain. We standardize metadata and links to speed discovery, reuse, and reproducibility across the project lifecycle.

A Rough Idea Takes Shape
Sparked at ECCV’22, the idea of lifelong learning to a larger vision - sharing and reusing AEC knowledge for community.

Project Team Established
Two years later, the idea matured into action. A core team was assembled to turn the concept into a real platform for OpenConstruction.

Work Documented
Our work is described in a synthesis of open construction datasets , shared to support and inspire ongoing community efforts.

The first major resource went live: a catalog of open datasets designed for researchers, educators, and practitioners.

Building on the datasets, a curated model catalog was launched, showcasing AI tools ready to transform AEC workflows.
